Healthy People in Healthy Communities will bring the First International Symposium on Blue Zone Science in 2017.  The 44th Annual Conference at the Seventh-Day Adventist – Loma Linda University will present the founder of the Blue Zones® Project, Dan Buettner and National Geographic Fellow amongst other distinguished guests. Blue Zones became widely known to the public as a result of Oprah’s former series on daytime television in which she partnered with Dr. Oz to highlight areas with extraordinary health indicators. The City of Loma Linda was one of the featured cities all over the world and is the only city in the world designated as a Blue Zone in the United States. Blue Zones are cities with data that reflect people who live longer and better, reaching the age of 100 at rates “10 times greater” than the United States overall. The City of Loma Linda is one of five recognized cities.

Healthy People in Healthy Communities is a cutting edge conference in public health that creates a community of professionals with multidisciplinary approaches for strategies and dialogue around modern solutions for improving the health outcomes for communities’ quality of life goals.

The event can be live streamed or attended in-person for a fee. Registration opens November 15, 2016.
